James Cornetta, O.D., F.A.A.O. Dr. Cornetta received his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Cornetta also holds a bachelor of biology from Southern College of Optometry and a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Richmond. Dr. Cornetta has been practicing optometry since 1981 after taking over his father’s practice. Last year Dr. Cornetta had over 6000 patient contacts including routine services, general and specialized contact lens services, pathology and medically related services, including glaucoma treatment, cataract and refractive surgery comanagement and other ocular pathology services . Dr. Cornetta is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of American College of Optometric Physicians, and a Fellow of Virginia Academy of Optometry. Dr. Cornetta was elected President of the Virginia Optometric Association from 1995-1996 and awarded “Optometrist of the Year” in 1997 by Virginia optometrists. Dr. Cornetta is a consultant for: Portsmouth Health Department, Maryview Convalescent Center Pines Inpatient Treatment Center Norfolk Health Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He currently also serves as Adjunct Faculty for Southern College of Optometry, and Pacific University College of Optometry. When not busy at his practice, he services as chairman of the Board of Directors for Portco, Inc., a non-stock, not for profit corporation committed to providing jobs to those with mental challenges. He has been the past-club president of the Portsmouth Lions club from 1991-1992.
William Damron, O.D. Dr. Damron received his doctorate of optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Damron also holds a bachelor of science degree from Old Dominion University. He has been practicing optometry since 1995.
Dr. Ramsey received her doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. While attending, she was elected to several leadership positions including Class President and National Optometric Student Association president. In addition, she was recognized for her leadership by induction into the Gold Key Optometric Honor Society, and elected Treasurer. Dr. Ramsey currently holds the highest therapeutic licensure from the Virginia Board of Optometry. Prior to attending Optometry School, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Dr. Ramsey enjoys all aspects of optometry including contact lenses, pediatrics and ocular diseases such as Glaucoma. She interned with the Phoenix Indian Health Service and has visited the Dominican Republic and Jamaica to provide free eye care. |
